KAPWA Apathy is sewn as an integral part of the current societal fabric. In contrast, "Kapwa" is a core element in the Filipino social and cultural psyche that acknowledges a shared identity, an inner self, that is shared with others. It forges an inherent unity between our peoples. This year at Christmas Institute, we will explore Kapwa as a core tenet of our culture and our faith. Through our Filipino culture and through our faith in God, we are reminded that we have an inherent connection to God, an inherent connection to our self-worth, and inherent connection to others.

Typically, all registration fees are non-refundable after December 8th each year-- including no-show campers and cancellations due to illness or inclement weather. Everyone is responsible for monitoring their own health conditions to help prevent spreading illness to the rest of the camp. Please communicate with the CI Registrar prior to arrival if you have any of these symptoms: fever, chills, nausea/vomiting, cough, severe headache, diarrhea, or fatigue. CI-PNW will follow all health and safety protocols as established by the given campsite and as recommended by the CI-PNW Advisory Board. Please do not come to camp if you are sick. AVOID LATE FEES AND BE FAMILIAR WITH THE CI-PNW REFUND POLICY. CI-PNW is responsible for paying total group fees to the secured campsite for a guaranteed number of campers and meals, regardless of any NO-SHOW campers and LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS. For this reason, paid deposits and registration fees are fully refundable until November 8th of that year (minus any third party transaction fees from Paypal, etc.) and are partially refundable for any cancellations made by December 8th (minus any third party transaction fees from Paypal, etc. and a $50 non-refundable processing fee per individual registration). CI-PNW will also implement standby registration after November 8th (pending space capacity) and impose late fees and/or a 100% non-refundable policy to those who modify their CI registrations after the set deadline of December 8th -- this includes any changes due to personal circumstances or sudden illness. Each individual must be symptom-free of any flu-like symptoms for 48 hours before coming to camp and able to participate in camp activities (otherwise they should stay home) -- this helps to keep other campers and leaders from getting sick. In the case of inclement weather or other possible situations, CI-PNW will notify campers and families of any logistical updates and timely decisions made with regards to the health and safety of the entire group; this will be done via the e-mails provided during registration and via the website. If any logistical camp changes impact the registration fees already paid, CI-PNW will do its best to communicate any possible refunds to its campers and families. Please make the best decisions for your own safety with regards to weather and travel conditions. In special cases, the CI-PNW Registrar will consider making arrangements for churches/families who wish to replace a camper with paid registration with another camper to attend in their place, subject to availability of finalized lodging arrangements. CI-PNW will not handle any refunds or exchange of fees in this situation. NOTE: If certain circumstances arise and individual campers/families opt to request a one-time exception to be considered for a partial refund for any NO-SHOWS or CANCELLATIONS made after December 8th, please be advised all requests need to be submitted via e-mail to registrar@ci-pnw.org by January 7th within the week after camp is completed. CI-PNW will complete its final payment obligations to the campsite first (generally by the end of January), therefore any partial refund requests may not be reviewed or processed by CI-PNW until February. Thank you for your understanding.
