Dear [sponsor name],

I am writing to you because you have always been supportive of my growth as a young person, especially in connection to God. This December, I will be attending as a camper at Christmas Institute (CI). CI is an annual United Methodist winter camp that began in the Philippines in 1921 and was brought to the Pacific Northwest in 1999. At camp, I will be in community with other youth where we will learn, share, and grow in our faith together.

CI is really important to me because it provides me an opportunity to become closer to God, while also learning more about Filipino history and culture. By attending CI, I will better understand myself, my community, and the world. I will also know better the ways I can contribute to making the world a better place.

[OPTIONAL: insert personal story, for example: CI has brought very important moments into my life. At last year’s CI, as I was standing among my friends singing our praise to God, I realized that I’m not alone. I am surrounded by people who love me, and I am known by a God who loves me. That’s only one example of the fullness CI has given me.]

You can support me in my faith journey by making a donation to help me pay the $200 registration fee. For your convenience, I have included a return envelope with my address and a stamp. Please consider supporting me in this way. I would really appreciate it!

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Dear [sponsor name],

I am writing to you because you have always been supportive of my growth in my faith and as a leader. This December, I will be serving as a leader at Christmas Institute (CI). CI is an annual United Methodist winter camp that began in the Philippines in 1921 and was brought to the Pacific Northwest in 1999. At camp, I will be helping to create an environment that allows youth to grow in their faith and realize their worth.

I decided to become a leader at CI because of the impact it had on me as a camper. CI was a pivotal part of my life as a youth; it allowed me to better understand myself, my community, and the world. Now, I am contributing my time to give back to the ministry that gave so much to me.

[OPTIONAL: insert personal story, for example: Leading at CI has brought very important moments into my life. During last year’s CI, I had the opportunity to lead Bible study for a group of 9th and 10th graders. Later in the week, a camper told me that having that type of conversation about faith was new for them, and that it brought them closer to God. It was knowing I could make this kind of impact that brought me back to CI this year.

You can support my leadership development by making a donation to help me pay the $175 registration fee. For your convenience, I have included a return envelope with my address and a stamp. Please consider supporting me in this way. I would really appreciate it!

Sincerely,
