LEADERSHIP
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

All members of the Leadership Team must complete our
training sessions, required paperwork, and background check.
 

 
Leaders-In-Training (LIT's) - 1st/2nd year Post-High, all first-time leaders

Responsibilities
- Delivers Kris Kringle letters to campers
- Coordinates meal-mixers
- Shadows experienced family group leaders as support leads
- Follows directions of experienced CI leaders in different roles
- Participates in general camper activities when not assigned leader-related tasks

Preferred Qualifications
- Has attended at least two previous CI's (or something similar)
- Has maintained a positive image with peers and exhibits leadership potential
- Intends to continue in CI leadership after LIT years are completed
 

Cabin Leaders - 1st/2nd year Post-High, all first-time leaders

Responsibilities
- Leads evening devotion and nightly cabin sharing
- Builds positive, personal relationships with cabinmates throughout camp
- Makes sure cabin is awake and prompt for breakfast or other activities and observing lights out

Preferred Qualifications
- Has attended at least two previous CI's (or something similar)
- Experience in leading small groups
- Able to create/enforce/model ground rules
- Able to mediate conflict
 



 

Family Group Leaders - 5+ years older than group members

Responsibilities
- Works with Content Coordinator (Collective)
- Leads family group sessions, Bible study discussions, other activities
- Builds positive, personal relationships with family group throughout camp

Preferred Qualifications
- Has attended at least three previous CI's (or something similar)
- Experience in leading small groups
- Experience in counseling and giving spiritual guidance
- Able to create/enforce/model ground rules
 

Workshop Leaders - Any leader, LIT, support staff, or invited guest leader

Responsibilities
- Works with Activites Coordinator (Collective)
- Develops curriculum/activity relating to theme and leads workshop during camp

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading small groups
- Able to create/enforce/model ground rules
 

Music Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Works with Worship Coordinator (Collective)

Coordinates music for CI worship experiences and work with
- Coordinates the CI Worship Band, including practice schedules and recordings

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading worship in a local church setting (or something similar)
- Musical knowledge, ability to play instrument(s) and/or sing in tune
- Organized and responsive
 

Drama Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Works with Worship Coordinator (Collective)
- Orchestrates a multi-episode drama to unfold throughout camp based on the key concepts of the Bible study theme
- Coordinates the Drama Team, including practice schedules and recordings
- Prepares logistics for drama: skit themes, scripts, props/sets, and AV needs

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in storytelling and skit development
- Creative (music background, funny, and/or other qualities)
 

OlympicFest/Games Coordinator

Responsibilities
- Works with Activities Coordinator (Collective)
- Plans OlympicFest games for team collaboration and friendly competition
- Prepares logistics for games: clear instructions, supplies, and safety precautions

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading activities with kids and/or youth (for example: Vacation Bible School)
- Energetic and enthusiastic (able to build up excitement for the games)
- Able to give clear instructions, explain purpose for each activity, and exhibit good judgment
 

Safety & Security Team - 23 years and older

Responsibilities
- Works with Operations Coordinator (Collective)
- Coordinates campground patrol teams during day activities and cabin checks before lights outtime
- Regulates safety conduct issues and concerns

Preferred Qualifications
- Able to create/enforce/model ground rules
- Attention to detail
 

Social Media Team

Responsibilities
- Works with Connections Coordinator (Collective)
- Hypes up and captures CI events in an exciting and informative way
- Posts relevant CI content on social media

Preferred Qualifications
- Attention to detail (spelling, grammar)
- Access to technology and tools that are useful for the tasks

 


 

THE COLLECTIVE - Core leadership positions (2-year commitment)
Created in 2020, The Collective is the core CI leadership team made up of 6 indviduals with past CI leadership experience to coordinate the following areas: 

OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Oversees the registration team, finances, safety and security

CONTENT COORDINATOR
Oversees the Bible study and devotion writers, family groups, cabin sharing

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Provides support for new and returning leaders, coordinates trainings

WORSHIP COORDINATOR
Organizes worship experiences, preachers and faith talk speakers, Act of Faith

ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR
Oversees workshop/passion groups, MTV Night Talent Show, games, meal mixers, and more!

CONNECTIONS COORDINATOR
Oversees web/social media team, CI-USA representatives, general support
